Minecraft
Not at all. Initial sessions for beginners include learning how to move and interact in the game. Cankav uses play for language learning, so no previous gaming experience is required.
Class access should be limited to the relevant student, teacher, and booking. Before starting, parents should check the joining link and account, and immediately report unknown participants, suspicious links, or inappropriate behaviour to support.
This usually relates to an unstable connection or an active VPN. Turn off your VPN to connect to Cankav servers. If the problem continues, technical support will guide you step by step.
Do not download files from unknown links or unofficial channels. Get the required version and licence from the official game source, and check the address and details against the current term’s written guide before installing.
Cankav aims to make game time purposeful. Activities connect to language practice, creativity, and problem-solving, with controlled class duration to fit appropriate screen time.
The required version may change between terms, so do not rely on a fixed number. Read the exact version in the current term’s guide and confirm it with support before the introductory session.
The current term’s written guide specifies the exact version. Support checks device compatibility, but the game must be obtained and installed from an official source with the appropriate licence. Avoid unknown downloads.
Getting started and equipment
For a smooth laptop or desktop experience, at least 4 GB RAM and a standard processor are recommended. Tablets and phones should be up to date. Support checks the precise requirements with you before the term starts.
Exact requirements depend on that term’s game version, licence, browser, and online classroom service. Send support your device specifications before purchasing and install only the official software required.
Yes. On tablets, iPads, or phones, install the official Google Meet app from a trusted app store. On laptops and desktops, classes open in the browser without a separate application.
Joining and attending class
The teacher waits in the online session for up to 10 minutes for the student to return. You can restart the game or switch internet connections. If the problem continues, technical support helps arrange a replacement session.
On laptops and desktops, the teacher shows how to switch between the game and online session using shortcuts such as Alt+Tab. On tablets, the online session audio plays in the background while the child sees the game.
Yes. When needed, the teacher asks the student to use Share screen in Google Meet to show the game, observe their activity, and guide them.
Yes. An active Google account is required. You can create a separate account for your child or use the parent’s account.
The personal class link is added to the student dashboard before the term starts. This link stays the same for all sessions in that term.
Classes are private for child safety, so the teacher approves student entry. Join no more than five minutes early and wait for approval using the Google account you shared with support.
On your first visit, allow microphone and camera access in the browser or app. Then check that the microphone and camera icons are not turned off. Contact support if the issue continues.
Minecraft purchase and licensing
The required version and licence depend on the term’s setup and your child’s device, and must be confirmed with support in writing before purchasing classes. Cankav does not redistribute unauthorized game files. Install only from an official source and follow the current term’s guide.
